Cedar Grove, Florida, despite being a relatively inland location, has been a point of interest for storm impacts due to its proximity to the Gulf Coast and its low elevation. Historically, Cedar Grove has suffered from flood impacts, especially during hurricane season, largely due to the circumambient low-lying areas and the town's flat topography, which can result in the accumulation of significant rainfall. In the past 30 years, a number of hurricanes and tropical storms have impacted Cedar Grove with substantial effects. Hurricane Michael in 2018, a Category 5 storm, had a devastating impact on the region, causing structural damages and flooding. Before that, in 1995, both Hurricanes Erin and Opal produced torrential rains and winds that severely affected Cedar Grove. Additionally, Cedar Grove witnessed the severe flooding produced by the passage of Hurricane Dennis in 2005.
