Deep Creek, Virginia, known for its proximity to the groundwaters and intricate system of rivers, is exposed to considerable risks in the event of a hurricane. While the town is slightly inland from the Atlantic coast, which does provide some degree of protection against direct hurricane hits, it's close enough for a significant storm surge to cause considerable flood damage, particularly in lower-lying areas of the town.
